After the hard crash and injury by Pablo Lastras yesterday in the Queen stage of the Volta a Catalunya, Alejandro Valverde and the Movistar Team went into day five of the event - 195km between Alp and Valls, hometown of the late Xavi Tondo- looking to dedicate him a victory. The excellent work of the whole Movistar Team on taking the weather and the final difficulties into their advantage on stage two of the Volta a Catalunya paid off more than one could even dream. Olot, the city where the late Xavi Tondo lived for his last few years, saw Alejandro Valverde and José Joaquín Rojas crossing the line together in a splendid one-two for the Blues.

Movistar's Quintana wins 2015 Tirreno Adriatico

The composure, reliability and talent of Nairo Quintana and the Movistar Team led the squad to another brilliant success on Italian soil.
