Congratulations to Galius supported athlete Cat Morrison in her 2nd place in the Panama 70.3 IM

Cat Morrison was back headlining the weekends results with a 2nd place at Ironman 70.3 Panama. Despite stories of a vom-fest affecting the race. Morrison toed the line looking for her 3rd win of 2014 in what was a strong field consisting of the eventual winner Angela Naeth, Heather Jackson, Mary Beth Ellis and Natascha Badmann.

Meanwhile in the men’s race, triathlon superstar Javier Gomez was making his WTC debut in winning fashion but there was dissapointment for Tim Don, who was a late DNS due to the aforementioned gastro problems that affected him and seemingly others at the race.

Here’s the Ironman 70.3 Panama results.

Cat Morrison continued her march towards the Ironman 70.3 World Championships and Ironman World Championship qualification with this excellent 2nd at Panama. The result comes off the back of her recent win at Ironman 70.3 Auckland and one 2 weeks earlier at the Port of Tauranga. Is there anyone who is in better form at the moment than Morrison?

Cat Morrison started her day a minute or so in arrears behind the early pacesetters which included Mary Beth Ellis on her return from injury and Svenja Bazlen. Behind her though were Angela Naeth and Heather Jackson – both strong bikers who would not have been too concerned at this stage of the race.

And so it proved once the bike started and Naeth put the hammer down for the fastest bike split of the day. Coming into T2 with a 2:30 minute lead over Morrison, who is known for her fast run leg, looked a solid if not commanding lead, and it was, with Naeth crossing the line in 1st ahead of the flying Scotswoman. Svenja Bazlen would finish 3rd.
