Team Raleigh put in a dominant show of force in Stafford last weekend with two wins and two second places in the Stafford Grand Prix (Friday 9th Aug) and the HMT Shugborough  Kermesse (Saturday 10th Aug), both part of the inaugural Staffordshire Cycling Festival.

Scully’s winning move came as he broke clear from the pack with five laps remaining, holding a 15 second lead on the chasing bunch to cross the line with a clear gap over team mate Graham Briggs, who together with Sam Witmitz, Tom Moses and Tom Stewart, kept the chasing pack at bay. Full results can be found on Velo UK.

Saturday’s 2 hour 3.8 mile circuit race through Shugborough Estate racing also saw a solo breakaway for Moses as he rode clear of a 12-man group.

Graham Briggs picked up another second place on the night with Tom Stewart and Richard Lang coming home sixth and seventh respectively.
