Alex Blain secured a fantastic double coup for Team Raleigh in winning stage three of the Tour de Normandie on Thursday – reclaiming the yellow jersey and helping to move the team into overall first place ahead of the last three days of racing.

Great team work and perfectly executed tactics aided Alex to victory in the 159km race between Thuit-Signol and Argentan.

The ecstatic Frenchman, the 2011 Tour de Normandie winner, tweeted last night: “Merci à tous, thanks everybody, pour vos messages, for you messages. Juste heureux, just happy! #bringtheaction #yaplusqua

Alex was immediately followed over the finishing line by fellow Frenchman, Eric Berthou, who made the attack which saw off Team Raleigh’s rivals. Prologue winner Tom Scully nearly made it a hat trick, finishing 6th.
